Tucked away in the wooded hills of Cumberland County in South-Central Kentucky, minutes away from Dale Hollow Lake and Lake Cumberland, a herd of horses are running freely down the hill in their pasture. The horse's breath shows in the crisp morning air.

These are the American Bashkir Curly Horses, who are born and raised at the Hidden Cave Ranch. Perched on a secluded hillside stands a proud stallion, nickering at his mares and foals. Foals are frolicking, geldings are playing, and the mares are watching.

Jaro and Marion, who are originally from the Netherlands, have a passionate desire to breed the best quality of American Bashkir Curly horses. They also run an award-winning B&B, rated #1 on TripAdvisor, which offers you the best in service and hospitality. Our goal is to provide you an opportunity to disconnect from your daily routine or hurried lifestyle and reconnect with yourself, the horses, God, or all three. We want your stay at The Hidden Cave Ranch to be a relaxing, wonderful and memorable B&B and or horse experience.

Take a riding lesson on one of our Curly Horses, go on a guided trail ride or just hug a Curly Horse.

If you are looking to add a Curly Horse to your family, we will do anything we can to find the perfect match between horse and owner.

American Bashkir Curly horses are still a rare breed with a mysterious and unknown history. Their unique curly coat is usually hypoallergenic.
We can send a hair sample to make sure you don't have an allergic reaction, because every individual reacts differently. Our advice is always to test the horse in which you are interested in. Curly horses are also known for their intelligence, easy going temperament, high endurance, good hard feet, and are overall easy keepers.
